Artist Spotlight - Jason Owens

You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the Cut chillin’. This week I would like to highlight Barber Artist Jason Owens

When trying to come up in this business it's hard to stay motivated especially when it seems as if everyone is doing better or doing more than you. I have experienced that myself. Working hard to sustain and being dedicated to the commitments I have chosen. An artist I feel who has been strong and really shown commitment to his craft by always improving and becoming better and better is Jason Owens. When I see Jason’s work I can see lots of dedication. Dedication to perfecting his craft and attention to details within the cut. Many people think that fading is easy after while but it is a skill that developes over time and definitely takes lots of dedication and commitment to master. When it comes to craftsmanship it takes a high level of practice and consistency to produce it well.In every cut that Jason posts I can see great craftsmanship, artistry, and signature.

Standing out among so many other talented artists isn’t easy and producing posts while still perfecting craftsmanship and creating a dope service for your clients can be like having three jobs. You have to have clients willing to be photographed meaning they have to like your work, consistently deliver exceptional artistry , and manage your appointments and schedule along with personal life. Many underestimate the grit it takes to show and prove while maintaining within this industry. I have to give it up for my colleague Jason who consistently produces excellent work while also maintaining a dope career and schedule. Not to mention he is extremely down to earth and humble all at the same time. I can appreciate an Artist who strives to be the best they can be and who shows heart in the mists of achieving.
