“You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the cut chillin’.
This week I would like to shine a little light on an AMAZING colorist and hair artist Joie Wallace! Joie is fantastic at what she does and one of the reasons I say this is because the color detail and placement she does on textured hair is beautiful all in itself. For one, it takes a lot to work with a curly canvas. You also have to have a lot of color theory to execute the placement well along with the chemistry to preserve the integrity of the hair.
I have seen Joie do almost every color you can think of and still leaves that hair with so much life and bounce. Besides being knowledgeable about hair color; Joie can also teach color! Joie has been known to teach classes on having a passion for sharing her knowledge with other hair artists.
Having the knowledge isn’t the only thing that makes her a great artist. Joie has one of the nicest and most pleasant personalities (at least from my experience lol) Each time I see her comments or see that she liked a post; I automatically know that it is authentic and full of true kindness. Talk about a person that will let you know how special you are and even cook you a meal to warm up your soul!
Oh, did I mention that she can throw down in the kitchen! In actuality, most hair artists can cook well too! No surprise that Joie also has that trait.
