Artist Spotlight - Kay Simpson

You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the Cut chillin’. This week I wanted to highlight a very well known and innovative Hair Artist Kay Simpson!

If you’ve been to Premier Orlando, Bronner Brothers, or the Spectrum International Beauty Expo chances are you have also seen Kay Simpson on the floor or on the stage cutting, styling, coloring, and educating her people. Kay has been perfecting her hair artistry since the age of 16 and has shown a unique talent for creative and innovative work. When it comes to knowledge no one knows the importance of it more than Kay herself having worked along side some of the industries greatest artist including Patric Bradely. The thought and execution behind the styles and color placement that Kay creates is on a next level vibe. Color can be a beast especially when it comes to textured hair and  Kay makes it look so easy! The health and flow of all her work is a visible indication of her amazing skills. Located in Houston, TX Kay has made a name for herself in the industry. Kay teaches many classes through out the year and shows great dedication to her craft as she travels to different cities spreading comprehensive knowledge to her peers. I’ve had the great opportunity of working with Kay and I have to say her personality is as infectious as her beautiful creations. When it comes to business Kay does NOT play stressing the importance of professionalism and knowledge within the hair industry with intense dialogue on how to be a successful Stylist.  If you don’t know about Kay, you better ask somebody!! To see more of Kay Simpsons work you can check her out on IG @kaysimpsonhair or trueperfectionsalon.com
