You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the Cut chillin’. This week I want to spotlight a very talented Hair Artist Roxie Jane Hunt!
Usually when you think of hair we tend to think cut, color, commercial extensions, updo or ponytail. In the case of Roxie Jane Hunt hair you have to totally change your conceptions of what hair can be. In Roxie’s artistry it is not just about the style but the whole conception and thought behind the style. The artistry that I see in Roxie’s work is mind-blowing. I am always inspired by the creativity and though process behind such a gifted Artist. Roxie’s work pushes the boundaries of what traditional hairstyling can be and introduces a new view point of what it means to be a Hair Artist. Conceptually Roxie’s work is pioneering stretching one’s imagination to see more than just hair. There is some sort of mystical romance and magic in the color pallets and the styling of Roxie’s work. To be so pioneering is so inspiring and really shows that you need courage to be creative. Pushing the boundaries of traditional hairstyling I’m sure has not been easy but a journey that is definitely beautiful and thought provoking. In a world full of commercial aesthetics and repetition here is something totally unique, unconventional, and magically refreshing. The amount of creativity and thought that goes into each posted masterpiece of Roxie’s always leaves me in awe. The looks created are definitely one of a kind and also in a sense spiritually liberating . I say that because I know that it has to feel really good to librate your hair and set it free in the way that Roxie does it. Hair Artistry unrestricted by the confines of a conventional world. I absolutely love what Roxie Jane Hunt is doing with hair and with other cosmetologists through her workshops and classes, teaching other hair artist how to open their minds to embrace a more colorful and uninhibited view of art in hair. Roxie is “ here to help you express yourself and transform your life, starting with your hair” and I have to say that she is definitely accomplishing that even if through just inspiring the viewers who visit her social media page or website.
