You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the Cut chillin’ This week I would like to highlight Healthy Hairstylist Venus Chantaye of Detroit Michigan !!
When it comes to healthy hair it is not always the easiest to establish within your clientele base and now a days I feel that it's rare to find a stylist that specializes in healthy hair. Gone are the days where we wrapped longer hair and set it under the dryer or even did a lot of roller sets. I chose to highlight Venus Chantaye, because she is definitely one of the hairstylists that is maintaining healthy hair and doing it in a location that some would over look, Detroit! I had the pleasure of working alongside Venus when she moved to Los Angeles for a short while. We both worked at Jasmine Ashley Salon on Wilshire Blvd. Chantaye also moved on to work with Elgin Charles at his salon in Beverly Hills. After staying some time, she decided to return home to take care of her son. However, the things that she learned in L.A. advanced her technical skills.
Sustaining your clientele and your confidence in a world so clouded with illusions is very discouraging. Venus has not allowed those circumstances to stop her in doing what she loves. She still produces great work full of love for her clients. I respect Venus’s hustle, because she has stayed in the game no matter her location or visibility. She continues to educate herself by attending many classes throughout the year. She is skilled with cutting hair, coloring, applying commercial hair extentions and maintaining healthy hair. Not only is she maintaining healthy hair; she can also help you to grow your hair by having what we call in our industry growing hands.
