Kaye Freeman is a dope artist! Today, she wanted to refresh her hair color. Sometimes you can get so busy with work that you forget to get creative with yourself. The Summer is quickly approaching us, so we thought that it's the perfect time to get a new haircut and color for the season.
Kaye's roots had grown out and her hair had not been cut or colored in over 6 months. I decided to go platinum to give her a total transformation. I believe that when you look good you feel good and when you feel good, anything is possible.
Keep in mind that Kaye's hair is very fine and her natural hair level was at level 5. I used Blonde Me by Schwarzkopf with 30 volume developer and Olaplex in a foil on foil application technique.
Using foil on foil allows each section to process evenly and effectively. I removed the foils after 45 minutes of processing time. I then proceeded to use the same formula (a new mixture) on the root area and processed for another 15 minutes.
After rinsing I toned her hair using Wella 9/17 in the root area and 12/81 on the mid shaft with 30 volume developer in both mixtures and olaplex. This processed for about 22 minutes. I used the No.2 conditioner from Olaplex to stabilize the hair and after shampooing used a reconstructor ( 6N1) by Design Essentials.
The results were fantastic and it gave Kaye a truly satisfying Summer haircut and color transformation!
